I have always had a passion for science and a specific fascination with the human body and its capabilities. I graduated from Winston-Salem State University with a bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science. I have worked in some form of healthcare since I was 18 years old and have always been thankful to be able to help so many people, but I really wanted to have a more one-on-one role and be able to connect on a deeper level with the community that I serve. After the birth of our daughter in 2016, my husband and I decided our family was complete and we wanted to help other families grow. I became a gestational carrier and have given birth to two surrogate babies (2020 and 2022). Through each of my unique pregnancies and birthing experiences, I became increasingly amazed and altogether obsessed with childbirth! I have gone through several IVF cycles and feel passionate about helping those who are conceiving through non-traditional methods, people experiencing infertility, pregnancy loss, embryo donation, surrogacy etc. Having a doula with my third birth made such a difference in my experience that I wanted to shout it from the rooftops. I wanted to share my birth story with everyone I came into contact with and when I realized I could be that difference in other people's stories, I couldn't find doula training fast enough! In September of 2023 I became certified through ProDoula as a birth, postpartum and infant care doula with more to come! I am so excited to bring my support services to my community and create lasting relationships in the process.
