Introducing: Perinatal Health Connect
We're so excited to announce the launch of our 501c3 - Perinatal Health Connect. We're poured our hearts into this new venture of ours, and we feel so honored to share this work with you all.
For the past seven years, we've passionately worked to foster community. We firmly believe that community connection and education is the cornerstone of of perinatal health's future.
We know what we're not - clinical providers. However, we have witnessed countless individuals slipping through the cracks of our medical system. We envisioned a community that filled those cracks, catching the folks who needed it with evidence-based education, functional movement, and community. Much of this work has been steeped in service, and we've realized that we're always racing to do more.
This year, we had a breakthrough realization - to expand our community work, we need greater SUPPORT! Through our desire to recognize our service work for what it was and to harness that strength to reach more families and folks on their perinatal journeys, we began the work of creating our nonprofit: Perinatal Health Connect, a sister non profit organization to Flow of Life.
Perinatal Health Connect's impact will include:
Providing funding for doula services through the Blue Ridge Doula Collective (formerly the Flow of Life Doula Collective).
Offering educational opportunities through community meetups and classes.
Making prenatal yoga, postnatal yoga, and childbirth education accessible through low-cost and reduced-cost options.
Granting scholarships for doula training, prenatal yoga teacher training, and birth education programs.
We're eager to expand our reach and services. Currently, we rely entirely on community funding. Our 501c3 status will allow us to apply for local and larger grants that support the community, health, and education work that we're doing.
However, the grant application process is long! And we are newbies in the nonprofit world. We would be honored if you would help us kickstart this journey by donating to Perinatal Health Connect.
We are also excited to announce our start-of-summer fundraiser; for now, mark your calendars for June 8th at the Whale for our fundraising event, Rosé for Reproductive Justice.
